Overview
DriveSure™ is an integrated range of brushless DC drives which set a new standard in pump motor control for panel-mount OEM applications.
- Easy to fit, set up and control via 0-10V or 4-20mA
- Reliable, quiet brushless DC motor control
- Designed for applications delivering flows from 0.16 to 3,500mlmin
- 24V and 48V versions
- Over voltage and reverse polarity protected inputs
- Integrates with Watson-Marlow 100, 300, 400 and 500 series pumpheads
Plug and play
DriveSure is a compact brushless DC drive, developed specifically for panel-mount applications. It eliminates the risks associated with the separate specification of pump motor, gearbox and drives. As a result, customers can significantly reduce development costs and time-to-market for their products.
Controllable
Variable control via 0-10V or 4-20mA, delivering a speed range 8-408rpm with a set point accuracy of ±1%, ±1rpm. The brake, direction features and tacho output make Drivesure the solution for biopharm OEM medical devices and process analysis equipment.
Compact Design
Easy to access power and control connections, simplify wiring and installation. The motor, gearbox and controller are designed to minimise space required for installation. The cast aluminium alloy end plate ensures thermal stability.
Reliable
DriveSure offers greater control, longer service life and warranty, simplifying the configuration of the drive/motor gearbox to the pumphead. It provides OEMs with lower operation and maintenance costs from the moment of installation. DriveSure is available from stock.
400RXMD Drivesure
Providing a purpose-designed and trusted pump and drive combination, the 400RXMD DriveSure pumps are specifically aimed at surgical ablation applications where the catheter or needle needs to be cooled very precisely.
These new pumps from Alitea provide customers with the ability to deliver 6 Bar back pressure at low flows; consistently and accurately ensuring a closely controlled ablation process.
DriveSure is precise and whisper quiet, with guaranteed performance through an extended variable speed range from 8rpm to 408rpm. It adds low cost of ownership through a single supplier, and ease of use with our plug and play solution for medical applications.
- Easy to use, with intuitive trouble-free tube loading that eliminates the risk of human error
- Eliminates costly motor/gearbox and drive development
- Easy to fit, set up and control via 0-10V or 4-20mA
- Reliable, quiet brushless DC motor control
- Designed for applications delivering flows 0.16-6100 ml/min
- 24V and 48V versions
- Over voltage and reverse polarity protected inputs
- Also integrates with Watson-Marlow 100, 300, 400 and 500 series pumpheads
Applications

Biopharmaceutical equipment
Our expertise and knowledge minimises risk and costs of development. OEM applications for peristaltic pumps include Biopharm
applications including titrations, tangential flow filtration and chromatography that demand exacting flow control and pump discharge
pressure capability of up to 4 bar. Critical pumphead duties demand a validated drive and motor gearbox solution.
Watson-Marlow Pumps is the only developer of both drives and pumpheads and it ensures that the OEM's final product is reliable in service.

Laboratory and process analysers
Our pumpheads are used in various water analysing applications. For example Chemical Organic Demand (COD) is used for measuring water quality through the Oxygen compounds in the water. Analytical applications depend on accurate flow control through varying pressures and environmental conditions. DriveSure delivers improved performance through the load range compared to a Hall effect feedback drive and set speed accuracy of +-2%.

Medical devices
Our pumps are widely used within the OEM medical device market, drug delivery, surgical and dental applications. DriveSure provides customers a guaranteed performance through an extended variable speed range from 8rpm to 408rpm. Combined with minimal noise levels, DriveSure is the ideal choice for OEM's in the medical sector. It maximises the performance capability of their products and reduces their time-to-market.

(2) NOTE: Fault pin 1(A) latches above the temperate disabling motor. For raised ambient operation above 20C or in a confined thermal environment, the maximum performance of the drive is limited by the temperature rise of the motor body, gearbox and controller housing. The motor body and controller heat sink should have adequate air circulation to allow heat transfer for cooling. The gearbox mounting surfaces should be used to conduct heat away from the motor gearbox to improve temperature performance. The motor body, heatsink and gearbox can get very hot (105C (221F) max) during operation, leave time for cooling after running, before handling the motor.
