Ferric solutions are effective both as a coagulant and for the removal of odor-inducing sulphides and phosphorous in water treatment plants. Several ferric-based metals salts can be utilized including ferric sulphate, ferrous sulfate, ferric chloride and ferrous chloride.
It’s old knowledge that ferric (iron) containing compounds cause many metal surfaces to rust. One of the advantages of peristaltic pumps is that the only wetted part is the inside bore of the tube, so problems of erosion and corrosion of the pump such as failed seals or ball checks are completely eliminated. You’ll only need to change out the tube, saving considerably on time and money.
