Cambridge Agricultural has taken its largest order to date for its Select doser developed using Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps, continuing its growing success in export markets. The Select doses vaccines, vitamins and medication into the drinking water of chickens and pigs, using Watson-Marlow Bredel's smallest pump to ensure that the products reach the livestock cleanly and accurately. David Welch, managing director of Cambridge Agricultural, comments: "One of Watson-Marlow Bredel's existing customers recommended the company to us in the development stages of the Select doser. After researching the competition we found that only Watson-Marlow Bredel had the flexibility and design that we required at this crucial time." Launched in May 2001, the Select doser has a flow sensor is fitted into the water line to be dosed and the product is pumped as soon as a flow of water is detected. Using a peristaltic pump has the advantage that the dosed products only come into contact with the pump tube and not the working parts of the pump. This ensures that a very high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the dosing process - a priority when vaccinations and medications are involved and a factor that is considered very beneficial in the agricultural industry. |
