 | Edale, a world-leading manufacturer of printing and label machines, specified Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps as standard and virtually eliminated the need for cleaning when changing ink colour, saving both time and maintenance. Watson-Marlow Bredel 313F/D cased pumps re-circulate ink from a container, through an ink duct, and back to the container in a continuous operation while the press is running, normally eight to sixteen hours a day. The pumps are self-priming, eliminating problems of poor ink flow at start-up. Because peristaltic pumps meter fluids through a tube from source to delivery, the ink does not contact the pump at any stage, cleaning down at the end of a shift is eliminated. Instead, the tubing is simply replaced and cleaned later - the work of a few minutes. | |
