Watson-Marlow conquers problems at Arjo Wiggins

Watson-Marlow peristaltic pumps are helping leading fine paper manufacturer, Arjo Wiggins, to improve product quality and overall production efficiency at its paper mill in Dover where it makes Conqueror, Europe's leading business stationery brand.

Arjo Wiggins operates fourteen Watson-Marlow peristaltic pumps as replacements to lobe and progressive cavity pumps. Twelve 500 and 600 series pumps add sizing agents, retention aids and optical brightening agents. Two larger 700 series pumps transfer bleach and another is installed in the CHP effluent treatment plant.

Comments Phil Stewkesbury, Process Development Engineer, "Accuracy in the pumping process is very important to keep waste to a minimum. When we first moved to Watson-Marlow pumps I had concerns about tube life, which has not in fact been an issue at all. The pumps have proven extremely durable, which is very good when you consider some of the harsh chemicals used in paper making."
